It keeps on a-callin'

Okay, first off, I'd lke to apologize to those (very) regular fans which I have by some freakish coincidence of dark energy, because if you have been checking my blog religiously over the past few years days you will realize that there hasn't been a new post posted since Sunday... Today it is Wednesday... soz. Mostly it's been because I was too busy having a holiday, and partly it was because *most* of my readers were also busy having a holiday, but I haven't forgotten about you guys, in fact, I end up always thinking back to good times like Ed'fd, climbing, lessons (what the dump! I'm on holiday here!), maths lessons, music lessons, maths lessons (note how we never do any maths. Guy. AIS.)... Anyway, I don't want to end up with a situation where there are many people bleak because they've missed out about 20 episodes of "The World According to Moi", so I've sort of gone for a compromise in between.

Anyway, you can probably all sleep well at night knowing that I am still a) alive, b) well, and of course c) blogging. So, to make sure you don't all nod off, here are a few machine-gun-points to take into consideration:

1) I am now going to try and fully integrate the little "labels" thing at the bottom of each post. Once I've cracked how to do this, it'll be far easier for people to search posts by just looking at their labels (ie ismail can find all the precarious death ones, Joe can find all the communist ones, chicks can do whatever the hell they feel appropriate, etc. The rest of you can actually just use the thing normally...)

2) I am on holiday. So are you. Needless to say, this means you are probably less interested than ever in actually reading about my life, and more interested in combing through to the funny bits/bits relating to you. To accomodate this, I will attempt to maximize readership and interest by limiting my posts to minimal holiday rambling (stuff I do) and maximum holiday rambling (weird stuff going through my brain while on holiday. Usually funny, I promise!). So, don't think I'll just be talking about what I did today, because i won't. I'll go beyond that, in fact.

3) If you are unhappy with the way things are running (ie yoiu want your name mentioned more times or something like that) please don't hesitate to place a comment, or contact Games Workshop customer service at 0115 91 40 000 (I know, right? I only noticed it like two weeks ago!)

4) Typing on a non-mac 'board with a Polish spell-checker is not cool. Apologies for any misspellings or suchlike in today's post, I know they're not my style.

----------------- (almost choked on some Fanta while trying to drink it and run up the stairs. Happy yet Ismail?)------------------

Okay, let's get started. Over the past few days, my life has been pretty hectic, what with biking around places I've never been to before, eating (piles of) cool things which I have eaten before on occasion, and finding lost treasures which I have not yet been able to take pictures of, for lack of a decent camera of any sort. Today my dad and I went on this massive 60km bike jaunt around the countryside, took us >7 hours but it was so worth it! Truly, Poland is a beautiful country!

In addition to my two sets of grandparents (whom you have already met), we have also been visiting my dad's brother and his young family, as well as my great-uncle and co. A quick bio of everyone: My uncle lives with his wife and two kids in an apartment. He is literally the (slightly) more rebel younger version of my dad (for those of you who haven't met either, they're both quite rebel actually). His youngest child is a son, 2 years old, who can only speaks in "point and blub" is a very raucus creature, and he really loves fighting with foam sabres (you can guess what I was doing every time I was over there). My great-uncle, on the other hand, has the exact opposite, an old and established family (ie he hasn't yet kicked his post-20 kids out) living in a pre-WW2 concrete bloc (sic). To say he is generous in figure is an understatement, and depending on who you ask, his nickname is either "The Fish" (??) or "The Crocodile" (????). Weird, I know. He has the coolest dog (bar my own, of course), a malamute named Theodore. You think you've seen a big dog, maybe once, twice in your life? Well, let me tell you, this dog is big. Truly. And it slobbers everywar! I love it!

So, that's what my holiday has been like so far. More importantlym my dad, my uncle and I were looking through my uncle's garage the other day. and we found the COOLEST things, such as: a trad helmet my dad last used in the 1980s, some old slings (also pre-1980) and a COMMUNIST PARTY CHALCK BAG!!! Will post pics as soon as I can, because this is genuinely cool stuff... It's red, and it has a hammer and sickle on it.. come on!

Talking of communism, my dad also found a couple of the Polish Peoples' Workers' Party pamphlets... genuine communist ones! I promise you, dear readers, I will read them and report on their contents. One of them has an article about South Africa from around 1985, so this one is definitely going up.

One more thing before I sign off: every time Gareth (or anyone for that matter) plays the "I don't want to do anything" song, I cringe (Buck, you know exactly what I mean!). You know why? Becuase every time that song comes on, especially on a Monday morning, I alkways think about how many man-hours are lost to the nation. I can just imagine that fat old businessman (complete w/ suit and cigar) chilling there, listening to the radio, and saying, "You know what? That fella's right!" etc. etc. What does this mean for the nation? Really, how can you complain about loss of jobs when you allow this kind of de-motivational de-incentivizing music to be played? People LISTEN to this, Mr President!!!! I shall be having a serious word with the Cape Communist party about this...

FTR, I am a socialist, NOT a communist :D

your great uncle's house is not a 'concrete block' it's just a huge brick family house.
and by the way: Blazej & his young family are not living with your great uncle - they just come to visits very very often.
